So I know it's been a long time since my last post and I'm sorry to any readers out there who I'm sure I've lost. I didn't totally abandon the site, just haven't had a lot of time to update the blog. See, a while back I accepted a relocation with my main job to England. This set in motion a chain of events that I didn't think would be as all consuming as they were. Preparing for an international move is no joke as it turns out. I was able to get the camera out and take some photos but getting time to edit them, get them to clients and then still have time to blog, something had to give. I have quite a bit of backlogged event and wedding photos from 2012 that I haven't made a posting for and I can't be sure if I will. You see, with this move comes a tough decision for myself. I spent quite a bit of time and money starting my company in Colorado, building a client base, gaining trust and getting more jobs. I'm only here in England for a definite period of time so I am not sure if I want to go through the whole process again. However, this has given my a brand new focus of photography that I am hoping to share a lot of with the world and this blog. My new focus will be the photos of my travel and life here in England. Perhaps some of them can lead to some sales and I can keep my company profitable, perhaps not but only time will tell. In any case, I just wanted to post and tell the world why I've gone silent for so long. I'm hoping to get back to it, but more focused on me and less on work for clients.
So life has been crazy, as per usual, business is going well, my day job, married life, keeping the house in order, learning to bake bread, I'm not sure how many more random things I can add to this list but I think any adults out there can definitely understand what I'm talking about. Because of this I decided it was time to redo my website. I just don't have the time to code my own galleries, worry about free space on the server, troubleshoot when something goes wrong with the downloads, worry about links being incorrect and because of this I've moved the photo part of the website to Smugmug. This is something I considered doing a long time ago but just couldn't rationalize the cost, well now I can. Now I'm able to just click Publish out of Lightroom and post photos immediately without worrying about coding, broken links and all that jazz. I hope it isn't too radical of a change for everyone but I think once people get used to it they'll see it's just as good or better than the old site and I can spend more time taking photos and blogging about my photos, my experiences and my knowledge hopefully with that free time. I look forward to hearing feedback from people about what they like or dislike, feel free to tell me all about it and if you find any broken links, tell me about those too. Thanks everyone, more blogging to come.
Sorry to the readers, I don't know why I haven't been able to find time to update the blog. Well I have a general idea, I was recently married, wedding and honeymoon planning is lengthy and stressful, but the posts really don't take that long, it's just fallen to the back burner. I have plenty to blog about. So with all that stated, I think I should get started again, and now to it.
Alright, short website related announcement. I've had enough of Godaddy, too much down time, too long of responses, too many crashes, too slow. I don't know how many times I've had people email me or tell me the that it's down or incredibly slow, dialup isn't great for a photography website. I've tried to tell Godaddy about it but they tell me everything is fine and I'm sick of arguing with them that there isn't so I've moved on. Onward, u2-web.com hopefully will do better for me. I moved everything last night and hopefully all is working. If something isn't or you find some broken links please email me or comment on this post. Thank you, hopefully all the web woes will be solved!
So the photos I took for Nike have made the rounds. I found them posted on a couple of blogs around the net, pretty much all Tebow. Have a look around, I google'd Tebow Boom Box and came up with just these couple of links: http://www.solecollector.com/niketraining/?p=2513
And of course a link to my original post here
Tonight, done! At least once the desktop stops crunching.
So I finally found the time to really site down and redo the actually website part of the website. Blog and Client areas are untouched but now the website matches. Yay!!! It only took me several months to find an afternoon to really just do it. Also I have added a Sales Gallery where I can sell prints of some of my more artistic and pretty photos. Now you can buy my art! Well, as soon as I get some more galleries added. Currently I have some photos from Chicago up just to test it and give everyone a chance to play with it, maybe even buy one of them.
